FUNKAPOLITAN fue una banda de funk de ocho miembros activa en los primeros años 80 en Londres, Inglaterra. Conocidos por ser uno de los primeros actos del Reino Unido en introducir el rap en su música, lanzaron tres sencillos y un álbum autotitulado bajo la producción de August Darnell. Aunque no lograron un gran éxito comercial, su sencillo “As the Time Goes By” se destacó en las listas y la banda tuvo la oportunidad de acompañar a The Clash en su gira por Estados Unidos en 1981
