Heath Brothers

Los HEATH BROTHERS fueron un influyente grupo de jazz estadounidense formado en 1975 en Filadelfia por los hermanos Jimmy (saxofón tenor), Percy (bajo) y Albert “Tootie” Heath (batería), junto con el pianista Stanley Cowell. La banda, que más tarde incluyó al guitarrista Tony Purrone y a Mtume, hijo de Jimmy, en la percusión, es conocida por su contribución al jazz moderno y por temas como “For The Public” y “Watergate Blues”. A pesar de la salida temporal de Tootie en 1978 y la muerte de Percy en 2004, el grupo continuó actuando y grabando, dejando un legado duradero en el mundo del jazz, con Jimmy falleciendo en enero de 2020
