Orchestre Jazira

ORCHESTRE JAZIRA fue una banda anglo-ghanesa formada en 1980, conocida por su estilo ecléctico que mezclaba highlife, soukous, rock y jazz, reflejando la diversidad de nacionalidades de sus miembros. La banda tuvo un elenco en constante cambio, manteniendo cierta continuidad estilística gracias a miembros permanentes como los vocalistas fundadores Isaac Tagoe y Martin Nii-Moi, los guitarristas fundadores Ben Mandelson y Folo Graff, y una sección de vientos de tres piezas. Después de firmar con Beggars Banquet Records y lanzar su único álbum Nomadic Activities en 1984, que desafió las expectativas del sonido ‘africano’ de la época, la banda experimentó cambios de dirección y finalmente se disolvió en 1987
