Pere Ubu

PERE UBU es un grupo de rock experimental formado en Cleveland, Ohio, en 1975. El único miembro constante en la larga historia del grupo es el cantante David Thomas. El grupo toma su nombre del personaje “Père Ubu” (padre Ubú) de la obra de teatro francesa Ubú Rey de Alfred Jarry. Aunque Pere Ubu nunca ha sido muy popular, a menudo se les etiqueta como rock underground, han sido un grupo influyente y aclamado por la crítica. En el libro “1001 Discos que Hay que Escuchar Antes de Morir” escrito por el crítico británico Robert Dimery, figuran sus dos primeros álbumes: “The Modern Dance” y "Dub Housing". La banda sigue activa hasta el día de hoy
