ARTHUR BAKER AND THE BACKBEAT DISCIPLES fue un proyecto musical que reunió a varios artistas de diferentes géneros bajo la dirección de Arthur Baker, uno de los productores más influyentes de la música electrónica de los años 80. El grupo solo publicó un álbum, Merge, en 1989, que contó con la participación de músicos como Martin Fry, Jimmy Somerville, Al Green o Etienne Daho456. El álbum no tuvo mucho éxito comercial y fue el último trabajo de la banda
