Barbara Mason

BARBARA MASON, nacida el 9 de agosto de 1947 en Filadelfia, Pensilvania, es una cantante estadounidense de soul con varios éxitos de R&B y pop en las décadas de 1960 y 1970. Es mejor conocida por su canción de éxito de 1965 “Yes, I’m Ready”, que ella misma escribió. Mason comenzó su carrera musical en su adolescencia, centrándose inicialmente en la composición. Tuvo un gran éxito con su tercer lanzamiento en 1965, “Yes, I’m Ready” (número 5 en pop, número 2 en R&B). En la década de 1970, Mason firmó con Buddah Records y adoptó una personalidad más dura, cantando sobre el amor sexual y la infidelidad con una franqueza poco común en esa época. Continuó escribiendo parte de su nuevo material y tuvo varios éxitos sólidos en la música soul a mediados de la década de 1970.
