Bronski Beat

BRONSKI BEAT fue una influyente banda de synth-pop británica formada en 1983 en Londres por Jimmy Somerville (vocales), Steve Bronski (teclados, percusión) y Larry Steinbachek (teclados, percusión). Conocidos por su éxito “Smalltown Boy” y por ser abiertamente homosexuales, sus canciones reflejaban temas LGBTQ+ y contenían comentarios políticos sobre los problemas que enfrentaba la comunidad gay. Somerville dejó la banda en 1985 para unirse a The Communards y luego seguir una carrera en solitario, siendo reemplazado por John Foster. A pesar de los cambios en la alineación y una disolución en 1995, Bronski Beat dejó un legado duradero con su música que desafió las normas sociales y abogó por la igualdad
