Desmond Dekker

DESMOND DEKKER fue un cantante y compositor jamaicano de ska, rocksteady y reggae. Con su grupo The Aces, logró éxito internacional con “Israelites” en 1968. Otros éxitos incluyen “007 (Shanty Town)” y “You Can Get It If You Really Want”. Nacido en Jamaica, Dekker comenzó como sastre y soldador antes de ser descubierto cantando en el trabajo. Audicionó sin éxito para Coxsone Dodd y Duke Reid, antes de firmar con la discográfica Beverley’s de Leslie Kong.
