DIRECT DRIVE fue una banda de la escena musical británica de los años 80, conocida por su estilo que fusionaba el jazz-funk con el synth-pop. Aunque no alcanzaron una fama masiva, dejaron su huella con singles como Time’s Running Out, que destacó por su producción innovadora y su sonido característico de la época. La banda se ganó el respeto en el circuito underground y entre los coleccionistas de música, y su trabajo ha sido sampleado y remezclado por artistas modernos, demostrando su influencia duradera en la música contemporánea
