King Sunny Adé and His African Beats

KING SUNNY ADÉ, nacido en 1946, es un músico nigeriano yoruba y líder de la banda King Sunny Adé and His African Beats. Se convirtió en una estrella internacional en la década de 1980, alcanzando audiencias significativas en Estados Unidos, Europa y África. Conocido como el “Ministro de Placer”, Adé dejó la escuela para dedicarse a la música, comenzando su carrera con los Federal Rhythm Dandies antes de formar su propia banda en 1967. Grabó con Mango Records, una subsidiaria de Island Records, y fue nominado a un Grammy por su álbum Odu en 1998. Además de su carrera musical, Adé es un empresario influyente y fundador de la organización no lucrativa King Sunny Ade Foundation
