Minimal Compact

MINIMAL COMPACT es una banda de rock israelí que se asoció con el movimiento post-punk e indie rock de la década de 1980. Fundada en 1980 en Tel Aviv, Israel, y disuelta siete años después, la banda jugó un papel importante en la escena del rock europeo. Sus miembros, Malka Spigel (bajo, vocales), Samy Birnbach (vocales, letras) y Berry Sakharof (guitarras, teclados, vocales), dejaron Tel Aviv en 1981 por Ámsterdam, buscando escapar de las actitudes provincianas de su ciudad natal. Conocidos por su estilo musical que incorpora ritmos enérgicos, guitarras rasposas y un estilo vocal distintivamente no angloamericano, Minimal Compact se destacó por su sonido influenciado por la música del Medio Oriente y por ser pioneros en la danza alternativa y la fascinación por la llamada música del mundo
