Pogue Mahone

POGUE MAHONE, que significa “Bésame el culo” en gaélico irlandés, es el nombre original de la banda anglo-irlandesa The Pogues1. Fue formada en 1982 por Jem Finer, Spider Stacy y Shane MacGowan, quienes escuchaban viejos discos de música irlandesa y decidieron hacer sus propias versiones de temas tradicionales. La banda se hizo famosa no solo por su música, sino también por las peleas en sus conciertos y los desencuentros con la discográfica. En 1996, lanzaron su séptimo álbum de estudio bajo el nombre Pogue Mahone. Aunque la banda se disolvió a mediados de la década de 1990, se reunió de nuevo a finales de la década de 2000, dando conciertos de forma regular y publicando varios discos en directo y recopilatorios, aunque sin producir ya ningún álbum de estudio nuevo
