The Enemy

THE ENEMY es una banda de punk rock originaria de Derby, Inglaterra, que se formó en 19801. Los miembros originales de la banda eran Mark Woodhouse (voces), Steve “Mez” Mellors (guitarra), Steve O’Donnell (bajo) y Mark Herrington (batería). Tocaron su primer concierto en el Centro Juvenil Woodlands y grabaron su primer sencillo, “50,000 Dead”, en Old Cottage Studios en Derby. Su sencillo fue un éxito y llevó a la banda a firmar con Fall Out Records, debutando en la discográfica con “Fallen Hero” en mayo de 1982, que alcanzó el número 44 en la lista de éxitos independientes del Reino Unido. La banda lanzó su álbum debut, Gateway to Hell, en 1983, que recibió mucha aclamación de la crítica y ventas respetables. Después de una serie de cambios de personal y lanzamientos de álbumes, la banda se disolvió en 1984 debido a las decepcionantes ventas de su último álbum y a las diferencias musicales.
