The Fatback Band

THE FATBACK BAND, más tarde conocida simplemente como Fatback, es una banda estadounidense de funk, disco y R&B que fue muy popular en las décadas de 1970 y 1980. Fue formada en la ciudad de Nueva York en 1970 por Bill Curtis, un experimentado baterista de sesión, que se inspiró para fusionar el ritmo de jazz “fatback” de Nueva Orleans en una banda de funk. La banda es más conocida por sus éxitos R&B, " (Do the) Spanish Hustle", “I Like Girls”, “Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money)”, “Backstrokin’” y "I Found Lovin’". Su sencillo de 1979 “King Tim III (Personality Jock)” es generalmente considerado el primer sencillo de hip hop lanzado comercialmente
