The Freshies

THE FRESHIES fue una banda de punk rock y power pop formada en Manchester en 1978 por el cantante y compositor Chris Sievey. La banda es conocida por su enfoque DIY y su sonido distintivo, que capturó la esencia de la escena musical de Manchester de finales de los 70 y principios de los 80. Aunque no lograron un éxito comercial significativo, su single más conocido, “I’m in Love with the Girl on the Manchester Virgin Megastore Check-out Desk”, alcanzó el puesto 54 en las listas del Reino Unido en 1981. Tras la muerte de Sievey en 2010, la banda se reformó ocasionalmente para eventos tributo, y en 2019, miembros originales como Barry Spencer y Rick Sarko volvieron a reunirse para continuar el legado de la banda
