The Jesus And Mary Chain

THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN es una banda de rock alternativo escocesa formada en East Kilbride en 1983 por los hermanos Jim y William Reid. La banda es conocida por su mezcla de melodías de power-pop alegre con guitarras distorsionadas de feedback, que crearon un híbrido sorprendente que fue celebrado por la crítica y que influyó en muchas bandas de noise-pop. La banda grabó doce sencillos Top 40 y dos éxitos Top 10 en el UK Singles Chart a lo largo de su carrera. El álbum debut de la banda, "Psychocandy", fue lanzado en 1985 y recibió aclamación crítica. El mayor éxito comercial de la banda en el Reino Unido llegó con su segundo álbum, "Darklands", que alcanzó el número 5 en el UK Albums Chart en 1987 y generó el sencillo "April Skies", que alcanzó el número 8 en el Reino Unido. La banda se separó en 1999 después de una pelea en el escenario entre los hermanos Reid. La banda se reunió en 2007 y lanzó su séptimo álbum, "Damage and Joy", en 2017, su primer álbum en 19 años.
