The Power Station

THE POWER STATION fue un supergrupo de rock formado en 1984 durante un parón de Duran Duran. Integrado por John Taylor y Andy Taylor de Duran Duran, Tony Thompson de Chic y el vocalista Robert Palmer, la banda se creó inicialmente para grabar un álbum con varios cantantes invitados. Sin embargo, después de escuchar a Robert Palmer interpretar “Get It On (Bang A Gong)”, decidieron grabar todo el álbum con él. Su álbum debut homónimo, lanzado en 1985, fue un éxito comercial y crítico, destacándose en las listas de éxitos de EE.UU. y el Reino Unido. A pesar de su éxito, la banda se disolvió poco después debido a la salida de Robert Palmer para retomar su carrera en solitario. Se reunieron brevemente en 1996 para lanzar un segundo álbum, pero la muerte de Bernard Edwards y los compromisos personales de los miembros llevaron a la disolución definitiva de la banda
