Toots Hibbert

TOOTS HIBBERT, nacido el 8 de diciembre de 1942 en May Pen, Jamaica, fue un influyente músico de ska y reggae, y líder de la banda Toots & The Maytals. Contribuyó a la popularización del reggae con canciones como “Pressure Drop”, “Monkey Man” y "Funky Kingston". Se le atribuye la creación de la palabra “reggae” con la canción "Do the Reggay". En 2004, lanzó “True Love”, su último álbum hasta la fecha, que ganó un premio Grammy. Continuó actuando con su banda en giras mundiales hasta 2020. Lanzó su último álbum, “Got To Be Tough”, en agosto de 2020. Falleció el 12 de septiembre de 2020 debido a COVID-19 en Jamaica
