WALLY JUMP JR & THE CRIMINAL ELEMENT es un grupo de música house y funk formado por Wally Jump Jr, un cantante de soul que empezó su carrera en el coro de la iglesia Ezekiel Baptist de Brooklyn. Wally formó parte de varias bandas de culto como Fulton Funk Essentials o Notorious Tornado Brothers. El nombre del grupo hace referencia a la época en que Wally estuvo en la cárcel por un delito que no cometió, y allí conoció a otros músicos con los que formó la banda. El grupo se asoció con Arthur Baker, que les produjo su primer y único álbum, Don’t Push Your Luck, en 1987
